Claire's Gift

Surely many of you have heard of or read the book, "Claire's Gift". It's about a little girl who visits her aunt in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. She doesn't talk much and as a result has very few friends. It takes time but her aunt shows her how to hook before she returns home a happy and contented girl. When the rug is completed, Claire sends the rug to her aunt who is delighted. It's a short story but a wonderful one. The book was recently awarded the Mr. Christie's Book Award for 2000.

We loved the story and the rug - and after a bit of work on our part - we were given the exclusive rights to print the rug for rug hooking. Two pattern sizes are now available. The author Maxine Trottier and the artist Rajka Kupesic are delighted that there is so much interest.
